Broken Ride
Broken Ride

Here is a band that knows no boundaries. Entering Season 2, Broken Ride has begun a bright new path towards rocking the block from here to the sun and back. This 5-piece hard rock ensemble has been writing, recovering, and working hard towards finding that sound to make you absolutely lose your mind when you see them step on the stage again.

After just one year, the band has played all around Western Canada alongside some of Alberta and British Columbia’s finest (..and not-so-finest). Broken Ride has played for crowds of 300+, won a slew of Calgary-based battle of the bands, and graced the stages of some of the best bars in the West, such as the Back Alley Nightclub in Calgary, Bar Wild in Edmonton, and Hammerhead’s in Grande Prairie.

Graham Furber, Broken Ride’s lead singer, says positively "All we need is an outlet to showcase our music on a more widespread National level, and the ‘Ride will take off!". Dylan Roberts, the bass guitarist/keyboardist thinks Broken Ride has an advantage over other bands because "Lots of bands have musical talent, but very small-range vocal capabilities. Our band focuses on trying to keep the melodies tight, and Graham always knows how to bring those powerful vocals, with personal heart-felt lyrics". Kevin Olson and Kyle Heese round out the band on guitars, lacing the band with some of the catchiest riffs this side of the galaxy. Darren Falk, whose drumming influence comes from the likes of Rush’s Neil Peart and British-born mentor Keith Campbell, keeps the group’s rhythm together when he says "We do it because we love it; we sacrifice finances and health just to keep the music dream alive, but we believe it will pay off simply because we love what we do."

Despite the consistent positivity in the group, the adversity and tenacity of this group has also been tested during their entire existence as a band. Home relocations, car accidents, music industry slaps in the face, financial battles, and personal heartbreak have all amounted to this group’s fuel for the fire. The name Broken Ride says it all; despite having the obstacles of everything breaking apart around them, they continue their drive forward.
